The Youth Ministry and Family Life Program aims to produce transformed, community builder and others-centered youth ministers who are initiators of change in their respective countries who can lead and serve the Youth & Family ministries in their respective parish or diocese across Asia.

It caters youths who are at the service of the young in the parishes, dioceses or NGOs. In light of Amoris Laetitia, as proposed by papal document, we hope to incorporate the evangelical methodology in challenging youth ministries to include family life in their programs/activities for the youth.

It hopes to provide skilled and competent Asian youth leaders for the emerging of Asian church and renewed society. This is not only to impart knowledge but also to gain and/or enhance practical skills and develop qualities to be an effective youth leader responding to the challenges of Asian youths and families.

It offers practical and experiential learning that will allow participants to come up with project, formation sessions, and evangelization activities in a holistic and integrated manner anchored in the Christian values with the context of the Asian Church.

  • JOY OF THE GOSPEL and New Evangelization

In the words of Pope Francis, “Challenges exist to be overcome! Let us be realists, but without losing our joy, our boldness and our hope-filled commitment. Let us not allow ourselves to be robbed of missionary vigour!” (EG #109) Pope Francis further says, “I never tire of repeating those words of Pope Benedict XVI which take us to the very heart of the Gospel: ‘Being a Christian is not the result of an ethical choice or a lofty idea, but the encounter with an event, a person, which gives life a new horizon and a decisive direction.’” (EG #7)

The program “The Joy of the Gospel” aims to produce pastoral worker with a missionary zeal who can lead and animate Christian communities in their respective parish or diocese across Asia.

This program will enable the students to become aware of their call and mission as disciples of the Lord in the Church and society. As spirit-filled evangelizers, they will discover new ways of proclaiming the Gospel with renewed joy, courage and “hope-filled commitment”. To achieve this, the students will be helped to become more attentive and responsive to the Word of God through study, prayer, reflection and practical approaches to evangelization. They will be given opportunities to apply these learnings through experiences in parishes, particularly with young people.
