In the Philippines

Fondacio in the Philippines aims to form young people and families to be rooted in the love of Christ and to be equipped and empowered to do and live the mission in their own realities. It does works of evangelization and formation.

The community was born in 1982 from the arrival of some French Fondacio members who remained full-time missionaries, sharing the spirituality of Fondacio and building a community. At that time, the community grew and was able to reach mainly young professionals. In the following years, various social development projects and missions also emerged. As it develops, it started venturing into projects such as youth education and leadership, outreach activities, and response to natural disasters.

Young Lives first started in 2007, in Payatas, Quezon City to cater to the youth living near the dumpsite. It provided education and values formation to help youth in poverty gain employment. Nevertheless, after 5 years of implementation it was closed due to lack of funds and human resources. After that, it was relaunched in 2015, in Fairview, to provide a similar program for the out-of-school-youth and marginalised families. However it was closed again after 5 years because of the pandemic and its limited resources.
