Young Lives Philippines

Young Lives Philippines first started in 2007, in Payatas, Quezon City in partnership with Ina ng Lupang Pangako Parish, to cater to the youth living near the garbage dumpsite. It aimed to empower the young people who cannot continue with their studies due to poverty but have the potential to be formed and to develop themselves to have a better future. The program provided them with a Value-based English Proficiency and Computer Literacy Training to give them opportunities to find employment. Nevertheless, after 5 years of implementation it was closed due to lack of funds and human resources. After that, it was relaunched in May 2015 in Fairview, Quezon City in partnership this time with Barangay West Fairview. It provided a similar program for the out-of-school youth coming from poor families in the Fairview area as well as nearby communities like Payatas. We were able to give training to 5 batches of students including the staff of the Barangay. However, because of the covid pandemic and its limited resources, it was closed again after 5 years. We are now at the process of reviewing our program and see how we could adapt it to the current needs of our young people. Hopefully and with the grace of God, we can find new partners and funding to launch again the program.
